AIB? What is AIB? Never would anyone who has access to internet not know what AIB is. Such has been the virality of the AIB Roast video uploaded on youtube by a Comedian group called All India Bakchod.
All India Bakchod, a group of comedians replicating the famous American Roast show where Hollywood celebrities become the butt of jokes, brought out a first of its kind roast video in India a week ago.
The Celebrities from Bollywood picked up for roasting were Director, Karan Johar and young actors, Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor. Karan Johar was the roast master of the evening show where Ranveer and Arjun were roasts.
But nevertheless, Karan became the “gay” target of the comedians, cracking up the crowd over Karan’s sexual orientation. Ranveer and Arjun were a part and parcel of the show, roasted every once in a while.
Of the 7 comedians roasting the celebrities, were 6 men and a sole woman, Aditi. It was strictly an “Adults Only” show, as some jokes cracked were just “too much” vulgar. Ranveer Singh peppered it up with some explicit body language and motion which made it look even dirtier.
A show which was aimed at raising donation might have done its job but the contents of the show were offending to some which has landed the show, the organizers, the actors and team All India Bakchod in deep trouble.
The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena(MNS) has demanded an apology from the actors, Ranveer and Arjun and the director, Karan for degrading the culture and tradition of India. MNS has also said that if they fail to get an apology, Ranveer, Arjun and Karan’s films would not be allowed to release.
Amid rising tensions, the controversial video which garnered 7 million views since its release in Jan 28, has been taken down.
Have taken down AIB Knockout for now. We will speak soon.

The issue has turned into a topic of national debate with the public divided in their support to the group. A probe has also been ordered by the Maharastra government following Education and Culture Minister Vinod Tawade’s orders.
AIB, a group not known till now has taken India by storm and with the word-of-mouth advertisement spreading around, they could well be on their way to fame or national shame. Let us wait and watch who has the last laugh!
