They are coming. Finally! After almost three years of negligence, Apple is all set to update its iPod Touch lineup! The upcoming sixth generation iPod touch is rumored to sport a brand new 64 bit processor and some new exciting color options. iGen, the French website, notes that the new iPods will land on July 14 in a silent product launch. The rumor mill started churning late last month, when a resource file in iTunes showcased iPods in colors that Apple doesn't offer. The new iPod Touch sixth generation will now be available in pink, gold, and dark blue color options. While we aren't sure about the pink or gold one, the dark blue screams class! The iPod Shuffle and the iPod Nano are also said to receive a new color scheme but the internals will remain unchanged. If the rumors are true, then, besides cosmetic and CPU changes, there won't be any other major change. The iPhone 5S's A7 processor seems a viable candidate though we believe Apple will put the A8 that is found in the current flagships! We have received numerous emails asking that whether Apple will increase the screen size of the iPod Touch. Sadly, the answer is NO! While we would love a 4.7" iPod but many won't be willing the premium Apple will charge. Though there is no word on the pricing yet, Apple might just keep the same pricing as the current models.
