Chromebooks are getting more popular among the 'travel' users day by day, all because of the virtue of its simplicity and versatility because Google Chrome and the Internet is all we need most of the time, but in addition to that, Chromebooks are getting tons of other features and apps especially which makes it more powerful. Most of the Chromebooks are bit expensive for its specs-sheet but Asus is about to launch the most affordable Chromebook ever, without compromising much on its features. So this new Chromebook by Asus, namely Asus Chromebook C201 will have the latest Chromium OS which is the open-source version of the Chrome OS, it surfaced last year and became accepted soon after. The C201 will also have a RockChip processor (3288-C SoC @ 1.8GHz) under its covers along with 2 GB of RAM (or 4 GB) and 16 GB eMMC storage instead of the widely used SSD. But the interesting thing about it is the employment of a RockChip SoC, it would be one of the first models to feature Chinese chip-maker Rockchip’s ARM Cortex-A17 processor. Also, the C201 will feature a 11.6 inch HD display (1377×768 pixels) with a VGA webcam on the front. The C201 was first shown in a Troxell catalog, Troxell sells user-systems to students in the U.S, So chances are that this 'affordable' Chromebook may be a Troxell exclusive in the US. Here's a Troxell 2015 brochure showing off its Chromebooks, taken by OMG Chrome. The new Asus Chromebook C201 seems to be very promising and tempting but its price isn't fixed yet, it is likely that it will be sold for $199 or less, currently only to the US, but we hope to see it get shipped to other countries after it gets officially announced.
