Online retailer Myntra is aiming to become a mobile only retailer by the end of this year. Industry leader Flipkart, which purchased Myntra last year for a handsome price of $30 million, said that the mobile market is currently booming in India. According to Flipkart CMO, Mukesh Bansal, over 60% of the transactions in Myntra are being done by mobile users and plans are to take that number to 90% by the year end. And at that proportion, Myntra's web portal shall cease to exist. Currently, the fashion sector dominates online purchases in both Flipkart and Myntra, with sales in excess of $1 billion, and $32 million being generated solely by Myntra and it's monthly GMV is $4 million. Myntra is also looking at options to bring out its own labels and fashion brands in partnership with celebrities and fashion gurus recognized in the industry.
