The world’s largest fitness products manufacturer, Fitbit, is coming to India this July. The news broke out yesterday and now, Amazon has the entire Fitbit lineup up for pre-order on its website! Amazon has exclusive rights for sale for the first two months and after that other companies will get shipments as well.
Fitbit will officially start its operations in India on July 3. The company has said that its first employees will be joining soon. India is the 43rd country where the San-Francisco based company is starting its operations. Fitbit had sold over 20.8 million connected such devices as of March 31, 2015. As per the NPD Group, the company had 85 percent share of the US connected activity tracker in Q1 2015.
Fitbit plans to bring its entire lineup to India. Here are the details on each of them:
It is the entry-level wireless activity tracker that allows users to track daily activity statistics such as steps, distance, calories burned, and active minutes. It will be available for Rs. 3,990. Rival products like Mi Band and YuFit are available for a lot less. Get it here: Fitbit Zip Activity Tracker

This is a fitness “super watch” that combines features of a GPS watch, heart rate tracker, activity tracker, and limited functionality of a smartwatch. It costs a staggering Rs. 19,990. For that amount of money, it seems unlikely that the Surge will see any buyers but who knows! You can order yours here: Fitbit Surge Ultimate Fitness Super Watch
Aria is a smart connected Wi-fi weighing scale that monitors your weight, body fat percentage. Check it out: Fitbit Aria Wi-Fi Smart Scale
It will be interesting to see as to how Fitbit plans to market these devices at these exorbitant prices. The Indian wearable market is still at a nascent stage and considering bands like the Mi Band, the prices for Fitbit will surely come down in the upcoming months.
