Gionee has announced the latest entrant to its Marathon series, the Marathon M5 Lite. Powered by 4000mAh battery, the Marathon M5 Lite has a standby time 450 hr and a 32.7 hr of talk time at an affordable price of Rs 12,999.
The Marathon M5 Lite comes hot on the heels of the Marathon M5, the one with the massive 6020mAh battery. The device has an inbuilt smart power consumption system which can provide a talk time of 3 hours and standby time of upto 32 hours even if there is only 5% of power left. The M5 Lite can be charged comparatively faster and is also capable of reverse charging – it can be used as a power bank to charge spare cell phones at the same time.
The Marathon M5 Lite sports the Mediatek 6753 chipset paired with 3GB of RAM. There is 32GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB. The device has an 8MP Rear camera and 5MP Front camera. A 5.0" HD display dominates the front and comes with Asahi Dragontrail Glass protection.
Timir Baran Acharya, General Manager, Gionee India said “After the runaway success with the Marathon Series i.e. M2, M3, M4 and recently launched M5 capacity Smartphone, we are strengthening our focus to the battery phones and are excited to introduce to you the Marathon M5 Lite. We are certain that the Marathon M5 Lite would be well-accepted by the consumers, just like its predecessors.”
The device will be available across all Gionee offline stores and exclusively on Snapdeal. At this price point, the Marathon M5 Lite will face stiff competition from the likes of Asus Zenfone Max and the Lenovo Vibe P1m. Let us know what you think of the product in the comments below!
