Chinese smartphone maker Gionee will launch its new flagship smartphone Elife E8 globally in June 2015 in India. Gionee’s ‘Elife’ series has helped the company to shed the image of cheap handset maker in the country and currently, Gionee holds 4% of the smartphone market share in India. According to the information gathered, Elife E8 won’t carry the designs and looks from its predecessors though the specifications are expected to be better than the current Gionee flagship that is Elife S7. Elife S7 which was showcased at MWC 2015 and launched in India last week. Since Gionee is going to launch the next ‘E’ series smartphone after almost 18 months, a lot can be expected from the upcoming flagship device. The hardware specifications are not disclosed yet but if previous ‘E’ series smartphones are analyzed then the Gionee Elife E8 may be company’s best camera smartphone. Let’s have a look at what else can be expected from Elife E8 after analyzing Elife S7, the current flagship and Elife E7, the predecessor: Body and Design: A lot can’t be predicted about the material and design which Elife E8 may feature but surely, the company won’t go for a plastic body. A slim unified metal body or glass body with a metal frame is expected in the next flagship. Display and Camera: It may feature a screen size of 5-5.5 inches with pixel density greater than 400ppi and corning Gorilla Glass 4. As E7 features 16MP camera, Elife E8 may feature same with better picture quality or a 20MP rear camera and since it is rumored to be a camera smartphone, optical image stabilization and a better customized camera application is expected with this flagship device. CPU, Memory and Battery: Processor which clocks at more than 2GHz with expected eight cores along with specific GPU, also, it is more expected from Gionee to go for Qualcomm Snapdragon over MediaTek. 2GB/4GB of RAM and is expected to be available in variants of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB with no room for MicroSD card. At least a 3000mAh battery should be there for longer operations and gaming enthusiasts. These are mere predictions, Gionee may surprise us all with its new flagship Elife E8. Gionee has made its intentions clear that it wants to expand more in the country by announcing that it’d unveil its next flagship in India. Gionee has also planned to start manufacturing the smartphones in the country itself in the next three years and is ready to invest ~₹300 crore in India under ‘Make in India’ banner.
