Haier, which is best known for their home appliances has unveiled two products at the Mobile World Congress. One is a smart watch for the kids and senior citizens and the other one is a pet collar for your pets. Both of the products are designed to help families and parents to keep in touch with the wearers. All the three devices (Smart Watch for kids, Smart Watch for Senior citizens and the pet collar) have same function, but with a slight difference in design. The Haier smart watch for kids sports a two-day battery life and a 0.96-inch (2.43 cm) OLED screen and is waterproof to up to 30m. The watch comes in a variety of colours and features a speaker and microphone for making calls and there is a dedicated red SOS button that can be used to send an alert to up to three different numbers in case of an emergency. The Watch contain some more features such as "Safe Zone"--- to set a geo-fence and "baby monitor" ---- to listen in remotely via the watches microphone. While the smart watch for Senior Citizen contain all the features from the children Watch but a more Adult-looking type and also Haier used the term "remote listening" rather than "baby monitor" but have the same work. Finally, the pet collar for pets again does all of the above. While the red SOS button is actually designed so that anyone finding your pet can call you directly from the collar, using the in-built microphone and speaker. Haier hasn't announced availability date or pricing of their smart watch. We'll update once we get more news. Meanwhile, check out our coverage of the Mobile World Congress 2015, Barcelona.
