Rumors of a bumped up variant of HTC's latest flagship, the HTC A9, fondly regarded as the iPhone that runs Android, had been surfacing the internet for quite a while now. The word was that the new smart phone will be called as HTC X9 and would sport minor spec differences from the A9. Chinese Telecom regulator TENNA has confirmed yet another rumor regarding the elder sibling. The new handset as seen in the pictures is a super sized HTC A9 with a 5.5" display. The device runs on an unidentified 2.2Ghz processor and has 2GB of RAM. The cameras remain the same with a 5MP front snapper and 13MP rear facing camera. What is interesting about the design is that the rear cam is that it has been shifted back to the left hand side and has a plate housing it. looks similar to the Nexus 6p? a bit.. maybe.. The surround speakers make a comeback but at the cost of the fingerprint sensor. There is no official word on the pricing of the HTC X9 or whether the handset will be called the X9 but if we were to estimate, the pricing will not cross the $499 mark.
