In a series of what appear to be a massive leak, images of Asus' upcoming flagship, the Zenfone 3 have surfaced online. The images come from the website of RedDot 21 Design and portray a drastic design change to the Zenfone Family. The original Zenfone 2 was the best attempt at creating a true flagship smartphone at a throwaway price. But there were a few disappointments as well: the plastic build quality, non backlit keys and awkwardly placed power button to name a few. (Read our full Zenfone 2 review) The Zenfone 3 might just be Asus' answer to all the complaints. The images show a striking new metallic frame with 2.5D glass on both front and back sides and a thin decorative layer underneath to bring that signature metallic spin texture. The website goes on to elaborate the new features we can expect on the new smartphone. The Zenfone 3 will have a curved back for better grip, a USB Type C charging port, a fingerprint sensor, laser autofocus, and front and rear LED flash modules. There are no capacitive buttons this time which show that Asus has finally opted for the on-screen navigation. With the Zenfone 3 Deluxe, the iconic Asus look is gone. The front now has minimal left and right bezels with a physical home button underneath the screen. Yes, exactly like the Galaxy Series. The description also states that the Deluxe will be the world's first full metal smartphone i.e. it won't require any plastic or glass inserts for antenna. Now this is a huge claim. It will be interesting to see what Asus brings to the table when it officially announces the Zenfone 3 at the Computex 2016 which will take place in Taiwan, late May.
