India has started out a Rescue Operation in Yemen to rescue the nationals who were caught in midst of the crisis. The rescue operation was a really crucial one and the authorities from different countries asked for India’s help to rescue their nationals too.
Till now, India has successfully evacuated 232 nationals of 26 countries including UK, US, Sweden and France from strive-torn Yemen. This was reportedly tweeted by spokesman of Foreign Ministry, Akbaruddin, on Tuesday. He tweeted about the evacuation and also mentioned along the list of the names of the countries that sought India’s help.
India is executing one of the most challenging rescue operation in Yemen said VK Singh, Minister of State for External Affairs . He had a talk with the reporters near INS Sumitra, the warship used to evacuate where he said that India’s decision to make Djibouti the operation’s hub served the authorities well. People are being taken out of Aden, Sanaa, Al-Hodeida and Al-Mulala, ferried to Djibouti and thence by Air India planes and IAF C-17 Globemaster aircraft. Djibouti is a port and INS Mumbai, INS Sumitra and INS Tarkash are functioning there.
Also, India has accepted Pakistan’s offer to fly back the 11 Indians, rescued by Pakistani warship PNS Aslat, from Karachi by special plan.
