The US Patent and Trademark office (USPTO) has agreed to a patent filed by LG for developing its own Phone-Smartwatch hybrid sort of a device which can be bent around your wrist by the virtue of its Bendable display and work as both. Though, bendable display sounds way too cool but its development is still midway in the process and may take several years to get implemented in such 'conceptual' devices. Curved displays are already in the market and has gained a lot of interest. The most prominent of them are undoubtedly Samsung's new S6 Edge and LG's G Flex and G Flex 2 which feature such displays in their own ways. So it's not surprising that both firms have patented for such a device. Yes, Samsung has done it too. Mastering manufacturing curved screens does not however makes bendable displays easy to make, but it does take it a step closer to it. Bendable devices will necessarily mean that all its components are super thin and flexible enough to twist and turn also to be able to withstand fatigue and stress caused by continuous bending which seems pretty 'impossible' in the current scenario. There isn't any information revealed about how LG will be designing the smartwatch and combining with a watch bracelet that will supposedly resting below. The sketches provided above gives a hazy idea about the device's look but tells nothing more than that. The concept of bendable displays around your wrists seems a bit unreal now but this is what you're likely to witness in the future.
