When news came back in February 2014, that Line(a free call and messaging app) was prepping to launch an open marketplace, LINE Creators Market, where normal users like me and you can create and sell their stickers, who thought that the response will be so overwhelming that Line had to make another app itself just for stickers? Yes, you read it right.
Line has announced the release of Line Stickers, a new sticker posting community app which will be available on Android platform as well as the release of the official version of app on iOS which has been in testing phase since 27 November, 2014.
This app allows user to search for stickers and if they like it they can tag them with unique phrases and post them. If they like, they can also purchase these stickers for use with Line. These posted stickers will be visible to not only Line friends but Line Sticker users everywhere. Also, the stickers will be ranked by the number of likes received so that it becomes easy for the users to search them.
To mark the release of this service, an initial total of more than 1 million stickers will be available, including those featuring Line’s own bevy of characters.
This is certainly not their first sticker related app. Line Selfie Sticker allows user to take a selfie and fashion a sticker out of it with the help of templates available in the app.
Line has also recently launched the Line Taxi Service, right now only available in the Tokyo Metropolitan area, which allows user to hail a taxi from the Line app itself without the need of installing any external app.
It certainly seems like LINE Corporation has its hand in a lot of cookie jars/pies, pick your poison!
