At a special media event held in New Delhi a couple of days ago, Meizu officially announced the Meizu MX5 flagship Android smart phone which is priced at 19,999 and is available exclusively through Snapdeal to buy immediately, though you'll have to register first. Looks like the entire Chinese mobile market is going to come to India. After all huge brands, it was finally time for Meizu to officially enter the Indian smart phone market. The M2 Note was made available unofficially via Amazon sometime ago and now the premium Meizu MX5 has arrived. The device sports a MediaTek Helio X10 SoC coupled with 3GB RAM. This leaves a score of 56k on Antutu Benchmark test which is by far the highest ever on a smart phone. The front panel of the Meizu MX5 boasts of a 5.5-inch 1080p display, and the rear houses a 20.7MP camera with laser-assisted autofocus and true tone dual-LED flash. The phone also has a 5 MP selfie camera and a 3150mAh battery powers the entire package. The Meizu MX5 runs on Android 5.0.1 Lollipop, with a promised update to 5.1.1, with Flyme OS on top of it. The OS, like MiUI, doesn’t have an app drawer. All the apps are listed on the home screen like you’d find in iOS. The icons, too, are redesigned to give the interface a unique look. The interface will surely have a learning curve as it has some pretty neat tricks up its sleeve. One unique feature is the mBack button, which is a unique fingerprint sensor that combines the home button and back button in one. Single tap will perform the back action and a press will take you to home while a deep press will put the device to sleep. We didn’t spend too much time with the device so we can't comment on the battery life or camera quality but our inital impressions and the hands on video will be up pretty soon!
