The killer handset OnePlus One, which has the specifications like any other flagship with an unbelievably low price tag ( $300, off-contract) does not anymore require an invite to buy. Starting today, the device will be invite-free. Launched exactly a year ago, the Chinese firm OnePlus has finally decided to make its exclusive One available to all customers out there who weren't able to get hold of any invites. “In our first big celebration of the One’s successful year, we are opening up sales globally for everyone, every day of the week. We have always wanted to put great products into the hands of more people. And, we now feel confident that we have matured enough to handle the increased complexity that comes along with opening up sales completely.” – OnePlus’s blog With about a million models of the One sold worldwide, the company has seen a massive growth due to One’s popularity. OnePlus now employs around 700 people. Even a year old now, the One is still an exceptionally good device for the money you pay for it. The invite-free system, however does not apply to the company’s upcoming flagship- the OnePlus 2. The 2 will be an improved version with superior specs and design and will be strictly ‘invite’ based initially. The invite system for their new product can be seen as a risk management technique and we hope that the OnePlus 2 stands up to its predecessor’s name.
