In a special media event at The Taj Palace, New Delhi, Samsung launched the hotly anticipated Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge in India. The Korean Giant has priced its latest flagships on the higher end of the spectrum, starting from Rs. 49,900 to Rs. 70,900. The devices go on sale starting April 10. First up, the Galaxy S6, with a mind-blowing 5.1" QHD Super AMOLED display sporting a resolution of 2560 x 1440 (577 ppi). The grunt is provided by an in-house Exynos 7420 (64-bit, 14nm), Octa core (2.1GHz Quad + 1.5GHz Quad) processor along with 3GB of RAM. The device runs on Android Lollipop 5.0 and Samsung has promised a 5.1 update real soon. A 16MP OIS (F1.9) camera graces the rear and the handset boasts of a 5MP front facing camera. The Galaxy S6 is priced at Rs. 49,900 for 32GB, 64GB variant is priced at Rs. 55,900, while 128GB version is available for Rs. 61,900. Next comes the first dual curved edges sporting phone on the planet, the Galaxy S6 Edge. The spec panel remains the same with a slight difference in the battery department of 50 mAh. The Edge sports a 2600 mAh while the S6 sports a smaller 2550 mAh battery. The Galaxy S6 Edge starts at Rs. 58,900 for 32GB, the 64GB variant goes for Rs. 64,900 while the 128GB goes for Rs. 70,900. Sounds steep, well, its nothing when we compare it to the astronomical pricing of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
