Recently, we heard about the ‘open preview’ of Skype’s real time video chat translation tool - Skype Translator Preview. Today, that tool is going live. Skype's live translation feature, which will help people to communicate in different languages over its video chat software, has opened for previews. In celebration of the launch, Skype released a video showcasing students in the US and Mexico communicating through a phone call in their respective languages in real time. If the video is a fair representation of what it works like in real time, then the app is putting up a pretty impressive show. Sadly this tool isn’t availible to everyone, and you have to be one of the lucky people who receives an invite from Microsoft. We have contacted Microsoft for an exclusive preview invite and will update this story once we test this new feature.
