Yet again the Kashmir Valley isn’t allowed to rest in peace. Masarat Alam was arrested on Friday for leading a rally in Srinagar earlier this week to welcome his ideological mentor Syed Ali Shah Geelani, during which Pakistani flags were waved and pro-Pakistan slogans were raised.
Clashes broke out in downtown area of city between the protesters and police, after the arrest of Alam and in which reportedly six people have been injured of which 15-year-old kid was killed in the firing and two men were injured in Narbal, on the outskirts of Srinagar, after security personnel opened fire at a protester. Steps were taken after the kid was killed.
Preliminary enquiry conducted in the matter indicates that the forces deployed have acted in violation of the laid down SOP. Case FIR No 34/2015 under section 302,147,149,341,427 RPC has been registered and further action would follow.
