Nintendo has decided to utilize smart devices aggressively. Now that smart devices have grown to become the window for so many people to personally connect with society, it would be a waste not to use these devicessaid Nintendo’s president Satoru Iwata at the announcement. Nintendo which has resisted its move into the mobile gaming world for long, fearing that doing so might threaten its traditional, console-based business model, has finally come out of its shell thanks to some serious competition mounted by competitors like Sony and Microsoft. Mobile gaming industry which is constantly evolving and rapidly growing will now be one of Nintendo's key targets. It will roll-out mobile gaming versions of Super Mario, Pokemon and Zelda although there is no official confirmation on the releases. Nintendo said that the controls and options would be different for keyboard users and touchscreen users.
There are significant differences in the controls, strengths and weaknesses between the controllers for dedicated game systems and the touchscreens of smart devices.Meanwhile, Nintendo is working on a dedicated game platform, code-named "NX" which will soon be unveiled.
