Tag Heuer, the luxury watch-maker has set its foot in designing luxury smart-watches too. It has deviated from just making over-the-top premium mechanical watches and decided to make it smarter. Tag Heuer already disclosed its idea of making an Android wear last month. Tag Heuer’s CEO Jean-Claude Biver told Bloomberg that the wear will cost $1,400 (about £900, AU$1740). The price is not as high as Apple’s watch edition but it does prevail over it when it comes to specs. The wear will have a 40 hour battery life which is way better than Apple’s mere 18 hour battery backup. Though the spec sheet of the device is not known yet, the Android wear will supposedly pack in a low-power Intel SoC. The device is still under development. Both Google and Intel has partnered up to get it done and when combined with Tag Heuer’s premium designs and experience, the watch could be a real hit in the smart-watch market. The luxury wear will start shipping in October or November. We’re expecting the wear to come with a cutting edge design that would make the premium time-piece worthy of its cost. Not to forget that it’s Tag Heuer, the well renowned Swiss watchmaker.
