Tesla Motor's CEO & CTO, ELon Musk, on Wednesday said that it has a brand new supercool battery up its sleeves which maybe hit production as soon as in six months time. Tesla Motors, a pioneer in the field of electric automobiles, and founded by Musk, said they'll extend their brand new battery technology to both cars and homes alike. Apparently, the battery Tesla's developing was designed to be used in one of Tesla's automobiles but due to the company's wide vision, they decided to extend the battery usage to power almost anything you like, including your home appliances. Musk was quoted saying by Forbes earlier, “We are trying to figure out what would be a cool stationary (battery) pack,” Musk said. “Some will be like the Model S pack: something flat, 5 inches off the wall, wall mounted, with a beautiful cover, an integrated bi-directional inverter, and plug and play.” Clearly, Musk intends to use Tesla's expertise in the field of making energy efficient batteries, which is used in Musk's SolarCity and also boasts of customers like Toyota. But whatever Tesla's planning, it would definitely create a wave since not many firms design their batteries for exclusive use in our homes.
