Uber has taken the safety of its passengers pretty seriously. It has recently introduced a customized SOS service in the app which when clicked or triggered, will deliver a SOS emergency alert to the local authorities. That’s not all, Uber has enhanced its service by putting in new features to the SOS button. In case of an emergency situation, various GPS based details like the location of emergency, driver and ride details along with the passenger details reporting the issue will be sent to the nearby local police authority who will be able to track the registered Uber vehicle easily in a couple of seconds with the aid of a software installed in the Police department by Uber.
Uber is currently testing its service in Kolkata and has installed one such software which enables the authority to effortlessly track and hunt down the vehicle. Uber was often alleged for not being concerned about the safety of its passengers and this huge approach takes Uber in the right direction. Though the service is still in its testing phase, it will soon be available to all regions and cities in India eventually.
