"Lost your vehicle? Seems like you are getting a sudden heart-attack for a moment? Don’t panic. We are there to help you," says the Delhi Traffic Police. Just send a small message on the Whatsapp number of Delhi traffic police immediately and you will get a contact number to find out whereabouts of your vehicle. This facility is available on Whatsapp number 8750871493, a help line launched by the Delhi Traffic Police. Not only do they will help in finding out your lost vehicle, but they will also help the commuters en route to quickly reach their desired destination. “Whatsapp is our best channel so far to reach commuters” says Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Muktesh Chander. Initially, services were provided through Whatsapp for people to send audio/visual complaints of traffic violations, unauthorized parking, faulty traffic signals and other such problems. But, it was found that huge complaints were about their towed vehicles. Henceforth the department of traffic police has revolutionized the service plans with further more improvements. "A youth was fleeing on his motorbike after snatching a chain from a woman. Someone made a video of the incident and sent it to us on our WhatsApp number. We were able to identify the snatchers and soon arrested him," Chander said. Thus, Whatsapp, apart from being just a social platform to chat with our friends for hours and hours, also serves as a good social media in sorting out the problems of public.
