It all looked routine when Real Madrid's star power, Cristiano Ronaldo netted in a penalty in the 14th minute to give his side a 1-0 lead. Real Madrid was heading towards its 23rd successive win in all competitive games or so it seemed. But, Valencia had other plans. The motivated opponents played with heart and courage. A La Liga record of 22 consecutive wins didn't seem so big for them, as they crushed Real Madrid 2-1 to end the streak. Goals from Antonio Barragan and Nicolas Otamendi brought the curtains down on Real Madrid. A winning streak starting September 2014 had finally come to an end. Carlo Ancelotti's men paid the price for enjoying a little in Dubai. An exhibition match against AC Milan in Dubai for sponsors, left the Real Madrid players tired, which was evident from their play. A pass completion rate of 78% showed that Madrid was not prepared and ready for the challenge.Although they tried all, they could not contain a raging Valencia. The final score was in favour of the better team. Carlo Ancelotti however, said that Real Madrid didn't deserve to lose and he expected a draw atleast. Whatever it is, they slacked and paid the price.Let us hope they rise again in their Copa del Rey encounter with city rivals Atletico Madrid this Wednesday.
