After Xiaomi, Oppo and several other Chinese vendors, Zopo has entered the Indian smart phone market. The company has introduced a new smart phone dubbed the Zopo Speed 7 at a price of Rs 12,999 and will be exclusively available via Snapdeal from the first week of September. Zopo has launched the smart phone in collaboration with Adcom which will sell, market and service its phones in India. The Zopo Speed 7 features a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MT6753 SoC clocked at 1.5GHz that's coupled with 3GB of RAM. It bears a 5-inch 1080x1920 pixel display, and comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage. The phone also comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop at the base with the firm's own Z UI on top. While the phone features 4G LTE connectivity, it only supports FDD-LTE Band 3 (1800MHz), not yet used by operators in the country. Due to it's pricing, which is coincidentally similar to Xiaomi Mi4i, it begs a mini comparison between the devices. Xiaomi boast of an octa-core Snapdragon 615 SOC, whereas Zopo is powered with octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor. With benchmark suites, MediaTek MT6753 scores more than Snapdragon 615 SoC but that doesn't mean S615 is incapable of performance. But the Zopo Speed 7 rules in this aspect by featuring 3GB RAM in comparison to 2GB RAM in Mi4i. The Zopo Speed 7 and Xiaomi Mi4i, all pack 16GB storage out of which 12GB is available for consumption. But the Xiaomi Mi4i skips the micro SD slot which might upset storage hungry consumers. In terms of battery, Xiaomi has 3,120 mAh battery but we found the Mi4i stays a little more than a day in a single charge. The Zopo Speed 7 is a laggard, packing a 2,500 mAh battery. The Zopo Speed 7 wins for featuring 1 GB more RAM than the other device. Xiaomi Mi4i is a compact device with way better usability. We can't say more before getting the phone in our test labs but we'll make sure that we update with a comparison between Zopo, Moto and Xiaomi soon!
